KENWOOD TK-630, TK-730, TK-830, KCH-3, KCH-4, KCT-19, KCH-5

After playing with a couple of these radios, I decided to make an informational page for them.

NARROWBANDING NOTE: Only the "G" series (730G/830G) have the ability to narrowband (12.5khz BW).

PROGRAMMING SOFTWARE: This series of radios use the KPG-7D DOS based software. (latest I have seen V2.01, 06/03/1996)

POWER CONNECTOR NEWS: On 06 Aug 2013 I ordered a dozen of the connectors, E09-0273-05, to make DC power cords from East Coast Transistor. VERY IMPORTANT NOTE;
The first KCH-3 that I upgraded had the pin numbers for IC3 marked on the printed circuit board.
Following the numbers on the board, I installed the IC pin 1 to 1.
This was WRONG see the picture below: (note the numbers circled in red)
